Forklift Operator - Truck Driver

Paddock to Port is a fully integrated container transport company offering its customers a full end to end service of container transport, unpack, pick n pack to distribution.

We are looking for a reliable and committed person to join our transport team.

Salary $35.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on experience

The position requires licences for a semi-trailer and 16T Forklift (HC and Forklift). A reach stacker licence is highly desirable but not essential. 

Starting time 10am to 6.00pm depending on workload and availability of trailers. Overtime is required where operationally necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  

• Driving a single drive Tug moving trailers around the facility and placing trailers on loading docks.
• Keeping and re-positioning of trailer equipment to be parked in designated parking spots.
• Loading open trailers, Tautliners, Prairie Wagons with various forklifts 3T to 16T with the ability to secure the loads and tarp where necessary.
• Understand the axle weight distribution whilst loading trailers.
• Observe and report any damage to trailer equipment, trucks, tug and warehouse doorways.
• Cleanliness of the Tug checking of oil and water levels and fuelling are your responsibility.
• Ability to check loads against paperwork and report any under or over or damages to cargo.
