Automotive Technician | 12 Month Contract – Multiple Opportunities

What you'll do...  

As an Automotive Technician at Ford, you will support a wide range of engineering groups. Your role as a technician will include preparing and testing vehicles for global markets, including the Ford Ranger – Australia's top-selling vehicle.  

You will be located at our You Yang’s Proving Ground (YYPG) with access to our state-of-the-art testing facilities. This role will report directly to our Site Supervisor, and you will be required to work across both our Little River and our Geelong based sites as required. 

Main Responsibilities:  

• Perform a variety of mechanical tasks on vehicles to support vehicle testing.  
• Support vehicle testing execution under the guidance of the workshop team and engineering staff. 
• Contribute to the operation of our facilities at YYPG, including driving test vehicles and set up for laboratory testing 
• Utilize your technical knowledge to modify, maintain, and manufacture instrumentation for vehicles under the guidance of test Instrumentation co-ordinator. 
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and security standards outlined in the induction package. 
• Collaborate effectively across functions with internal engineering customers and colleagues. 
• Embrace a collaborative work environment, contributing your unique perspectives and skills to support our team's success. 
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace. 

You'll have...  

• Minimum Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).  
• Must be licenced to drive vehicles and complete a basic driving skills training module. 
• Experience in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving vehicle component issues. 
• Ability to document task & test findings. 
• Proficiency in various computer systems incl. vehicle diagnostics. 
• Flexibility and adaptability, readily embracing new challenges.
