Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of motor vehicles, including passenger cars and light commercial vehicles
• Conduct routine inspections and vehicle servicing to ensure roadworthiness
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and carry out repairs promptly
• Perform engine repairs, brake servicing, transmission work, and suspension adjustments
• Assist with body repairs and work closely with other departments within the repair centre
• Keep up-to-date with automotive technology and follow safety standards and procedures
• Provide guidance and train apprentices to develop their technical skills and knowledge
• Maintain detailed records of services and repairs performed
• Ensure workshop tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good condition

Requirements:

• Relevant trade certificate (e.g., Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a motor mechanic in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Willingness to mentor and train apprentices
• Current Australian driver's license
