Are you a skilled Fitter Turner Machinist looking for something beyond the usual machining job?

Whether you’re an experienced tradesperson seeking a full-time role or semi-retired and looking for occasional work to keep your skills sharp, GoldQuip has an opportunity for you.

At GoldQuip, a WA-based manufacturer specializing in innovative equipment for the mining industry, we pride ourselves on our collaborative, hands-on approach. Our team members enjoy variety in their work, opportunities for continuous improvement, and the freedom to bring their ideas to life on each project. Here, you’ll be part of a team where you can see your work through from start to finish.

About the Role

In this unique Fitter Turner Machinist role, you’ll go beyond basic machining. Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining milling machines, metal lathes, and other machining equipment on custom projects.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers and draftsmen on prototype testing and R&D.
  • Working with stainless steel and other materials to produce precision components for innovative mining equipment.
  • Taking charge of production processes, from machining and fitting to assembly, testing, and finishing.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and setup of workshop tools and equipment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after more than just qualifications. While a Trade Certificate and experience with manual or CNC machining are highly regarded, we’re most interested in candidates who are:

  • Proactive and dependable, with a collaborative spirit.
  • Eager to bring new ideas to the table.
  • Skilled in or willing to learn additional trades like workshop fabrication or welding.

Whether you’re seeking full-time hours or a casual position, particularly if you’re semi-retired, we offer flexibility – you could work as much as a couple of days a week or as little as one day every few weeks. Your experience will not only contribute to production but also support the growth and skill development of our team.

What You’ll Gain

  • Competitive pay tailored to skill level and role requirements.
  • Flexible work hours in a supportive team environment.
  • Opportunities to work on exciting projects, from R&D to full-scale production.
  • A chance to make a real impact, helping shape the future of our team and our products.
