About the role

CQ Diesel Fitting is seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter | HD Fitter | HD Mechanic to join our workshop team in Mackay Harbour, Queensland. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment and machinery.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and maintenance on a range of heavy-duty diesel engines, plant and equipment
• Carry out mechanical repairs, overhauls and servicing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues, implementing effective solutions
• Maintain detailed documentation and work records
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure a safe and efficient workshop environment

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related trade
• Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Diesel Fitter or Heavy Diesel Mechanic, ideally in a workshop setting
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues
• Excellent technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment
• Commitment to high-quality work and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
