Fleet Controller - 4 x 4 - Bairnsdale

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and knowledgeable Fleet Controller to join our team at Bairnsdale.
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the core function of your role is to effectively co-ordinate and manage a fleet of single and b-double trucks within Victoria and NSW.

This position is dayshift commencing at 6am and offered on a rotating roster of four days on four days off, shared with another employee.  We offer an excellent salary package with the option of a company supplied vehicle.

 

Your primary function will include:

• Scheduling all vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensuring all loading and delivery windows are met
• Coaching, mentoring and managing the performance of drivers and delivery schedules
• Promoting a safety culture 
• Adherence to all legislative and chain of responsibility requirements
• Encourage a great working culture that reports on issues relating to service failure, loss or damages
• Liaising with the Depot Manager to facilitate continuous improvement
• Daily reporting
• Analysing weekly KPI reports

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Previous supervisory experience in a Transport, Distribution or 3PL environment.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong people and relationship building skills.
• Sound knowledge of Melbourne Metropolitan area and eastern Victoria.
• Effective management and leadership skills.
• The ability to adopt, implement and follow work procedures.
• Outstanding problem solving skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift licence.
• A hands on approach.
• A degree of flexibility with work rosters.
• Current HR, HC or MC licences.
• Ability to work unattended when required.
