Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a Maintenance Carpenter/Cabinet Maker to join the School in this hands-on position located in our primary school Grimwade House campus.

The Maintenance Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for carrying out maintenance and minor project or repair work to the School’s building fabric, services and infrastructure. The role will also be required to undertake tasks in support of the activities and operations of the Property Services Department.

This position is located primarily at our Junior School Campus, Grimwade House in Caulfield but may be required to work at other MGS locations.

Hours for the Carpenter role are 7:00am – 3:30pm, although hours may vary in line with operational requirements. Melbourne Grammar School will supply an appropriate uniform which must be worn at all times.

This is a full-time ongoing position.

You will:

• Complete Fix-its allocated by Management or the Leading Hand and any other minor repair works identified while undertaking allocated tasks

• Maintaining maintenance records in accordance with documented policies and procedures.

• Understand and ensure all health and safety requirements are complied with and ensure team members, sub-contractors or other school users are also complying with Health and Safety Policy.

• Provide support to minor projects in conjunction with the School’s project schedules.

• Assist with providing support and general services to the school curricula and planned activities including logistics and event set up support.

 Please note, Melbourne Grammar staff must hold or be able to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
