Who are we looking for?
Conveniently located at our Head Office in Northmead, NSW, we are looking for an experienced, organised and hands on Machine Tool Accessory Buyer to join our team, reporting directly to our Imports Manager.
What will you be doing?
The Machine Tool Accessory Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of machine tool accessories and components to the Australian & New Zealand markets. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, excellent supplier relationship management abilities, and a keen eye for quality and cost efficiency.
What are the Key Responsibilities?
Identify and source high-quality machine tool accessories from reliable suppliers.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Analyse sales data and provide accurate monthly sales forecasts for rolling 12-month periods.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of essential accessories.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
Conduct market research to stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
Compile and maintain accurate procurement records.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and standards.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, including merchandising, marketing, and design, to drive cohesive product launches and campaigns.
Develop and deliver comprehensive product training programs to equip sales teams with in-depth knowledge of product features, benefits, and applications.
Identify growth opportunities and make informed recommendations to maximise profitability.
Manage end-of-product lines and coordinate product discontinuation processes effectively
Travel overseas to visit trade shows and manufacturers as required.
What will you need to be successful in the role?
Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably within the machine tool or manufacturing industry.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of machine tool accessories and components.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
