Painter

We are looking for a qualified and experienced painter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of handling a wide range of painting and surface preparation tasks in residential settings.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Set up ladders and scaffolding and place protective drop sheets to safeguard surfaces from paint splatter
• Prepare surfaces by stripping old paint, repairing timberwork, filling cracks and holes, and sealing and smoothing surfaces for optimal results
• Mix and prepare paints to the correct colour and consistency by combining pigments, oils, and necessary additives
• Ensure correct alignment of patterns and trimming for a clean finish during installation tasks
• Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas after each job
• May also be involved in laying or repairing wall and floor tiles as required
• Perform basic repair work including fixing windows and replacing broken glass in frames

Qualifications & experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant work experience in painting and decorating
• Completion of at least a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent qualification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical fitness and safety awareness
