About us:

BreatheSafe are a proud Australian company that strives to develop, manufacture and sell world leading dust control and air quality solutions to any industry that is exposed to dust or airborne contaminant, both locally and internationally. Following exciting growth plans, we are looking for a Field Technician to join our team.

About the role:

If you're mechanically minded and enjoy working on-site with large equipment, this role offers a great mix of hands-on work and travel. As a Field Technician at BreatheSafe, you’ll install, audit, and service our air filtration systems — primarily on mining and earthmoving machinery.

While the core tasks remain consistent, your location, hours, and length of stay will vary depending on customer site requirements. You’ll regularly be away for extended periods (more than overnight), especially on remote and mining sites.

We offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate with frequent overtime
  • Travel allowances and full accommodation when away
  • Company vehicle for local site visits
  • On-the-job training and skill development
  • Supportive workshop base in Kewdale for in-between jobs

Key Responsibilities:

Installation, Audit & Repairs

  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery to install filtration systems, including wiring, cab sealing with silicone, and mounting equipment.
  • Conduct audits, servicing, and repairs across various site locations.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed installation and service records, including photographs and written reports.
  • Identify and report any issues or discrepancies to support continuous improvement.

Customer Service & Support

  • Provide technical assistance, guiding customers on proper use and maintenance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through effective communication and professionalism.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act guidelines, company policies, and site procedures.
  • Participate in safety training and meetings as required.

BreatheSafe Hours of Work:

When working on-site:

  • Hours will vary to suit each site’s schedule
  • Stays are regularly longer than overnight and vary in length
  • Travel is a core part of this role

When working locally at our Kewdale facility:

  • Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 3:45pm
  • Friday: 6:30am – 12:30pm
  • Enjoy a 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off)

About you:

You’re a mechanically minded problem-solver with hands-on experience – maybe in air conditioning, fitting & turning, or a similar trade. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable working independently on remote sites.

 Requirements:

  • Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Police clearance and ability to pass a pre-employment medical
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
  • Your own toolkit (we’ll repair or replace damaged tools)
  • Solid communication and customer service skills
  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive attitude

Preferred but not essential:

  • Forklift Ticket
  • Working at Heights Ticket
  • Previous mining or remote site experience

What we are offering:

  • 9-day fortnight when based in the workshop.
  • High focus on team member development.
  • Extensive support for learning new skills.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Realistic work targets.
  • Weekly BBQs and monthly birthday celebrations.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal and family support.

A competitive hourly rate will be negotiated based on experience.
