About the role

BAKER of THINGS is seeking an experienced Sourdough Baker, a mentor and leader to guide our baking team. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to grow in a business based on excellence and joy. As our lead baker, you will play a key role in product development and quality control of all sourdough bread.

 

What you'll be doing

• Heading product development and maintaining high level of quality control metrics

• Preparing and baking a range of sourdough breads, according to recipes and production schedules

• Managing a team (including rosters, training and team culture)

• Working with naturally leavened doughs

• Maintaining starter

• Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards throughout the baking process

• Assisting with inventory management and ordering of baking supplies

• Working with the team to identify opportunities for process, equipment and quality improvements

 

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a sourdough Baker in a leadership role

• A technical understanding and analytic perspective of mixing, hand shaping and baking

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment at times autonomously

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for commercial baking

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely

• Positive attitude and commitment to quality

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with high level of communication
