Undercover Group is Hiring - Ecology Division 

 

About the Opportunity 

Undercover Ecology is looking to expand its team of environmental landscape technicians to work on both large-scale ecological restoration projects, as well as our fundamental bush regeneration projects. Daily activities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Various methods of weed control 
  • Mixing and applying herbicide  
  • Planting 
  • Identifying flora and fauna in the field 
  • Installing erosion control 
  • Monitoring, and recording data 
     

About Us 

With much of our work situated in Western Sydney, an area undergoing rapid urban sprawl, Undercover Ecology strives to liaise with clients and stakeholders to find the best possible outcome for them and the environment, with focus on: 

  • Restoration of riparian zones through bank stabilisation, revegetation, and weed control 
  • Conservation and expansion of threatened ecological communities
  • Increasing the connectivity of natural corridors and their ability to function as habitat
  • Improving the biodiversity of natural areas by controlling invasive flora and fauna

Undercover Group prides itself on being able to deliver ‘whole site’ solutions, with an in-house native nursery, and collaborative divisions of environmental construction, ecology, and maintenance, we can take projects from inception through to completion.

 

About You 

This role will allow you to work as part of a close-knit team with a passion for positive environmental outcomes. To be considered for this position you’ll need to meet the following criteria: 

  • Minimum four days-a-week availability  
  • Current drivers’ licence and ability to travel to sites located in Western Sydney 
  • White card 
  • Basic plant ID  
  • Some previous experience working in the industry (bush regeneration, landscaping, nursery, etc). 
  • Physically fit 
  • Reliable, with a positive attitude and willingness to develop
  • A passion for our natural environment

 

Desirable but not required: 

  • First Aid certificate 
  • AQF3 Chemical Accreditation 
  • Chainsaw accreditation and experience
