About the Role
As a National Cleaning Manager, you will oversee and optimise our cleaning operations across a national portfolio of commercial contracts. In addition to ensuring operational excellence, you will play a key role in business development, identifying growth opportunities, and helping to expand our client base. You will lead teams, develop operational processes, and ensure compliance with service agreements and industry standards, all while driving improvements in client satisfaction, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the delivery of high-quality cleaning services across multiple sites.
- Drive business development initiatives to expand our client base and explore new market opportunities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for contract renewals, upselling, and cross-selling additional services to existing clients.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, service quality standards, and regulatory requirements (including health and safety).
- Lead, coach, and develop regional cleaning managers and on-site teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct site audits and quality inspections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships to maintain high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, proactively addressing any service issues.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and contracts to optimise operational costs and increase profitability.
- Support the start-up of new contracts, ensuring seamless transitions and operational readiness.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term business strategies and growth plans.
Skills & Experience Required
- Significant experience in cleaning, facilities management, or operations management, with a proven track record in business development and growth.
- Experience in identifying new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and increasing revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams to success.
- Experience managing multi-site operations and working in fast-paced environments.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, contract negotiation, financial management, and profit optimisation.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in property, facilities management, business, or a related field (preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered).
- Full Australian Driver’s Licence (essential).
- Must be willing to undergo a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
