Salary: $88,000 + 11.5% Superannuation

At 28 Villages, we provide remote accommodation, catering and support services to mining companies operating in remote Western Australia. We deliver village management services, bringing our villages to life through friendly customer service and outstanding catering.    

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mine Site Cleaning Supervisor to oversee daily operations and manage a small team of Mine Site Cleaners across multiple locations. Reporting directly to Village Management, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of communal buildings and facilities on the mine site.

The Role:

• Supervise and coordinate the cleaning of communal buildings and facilities, including offices, training rooms, crib rooms, locker rooms, and ablutions.
• Oversee waste removal and perform light grounds work, including power washing of pathways.
• Lead and train a small team of mine site cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained.
• Conduct daily prestart meetings to set expectations and priorities for the team.
• Manage team performance, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
• Foster a culture of safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promptly investigating and reporting hazards, incidents, and injuries.
• Prepare and submit performance reports and provide leadership updates to the management team as required.
• Ensure the team works efficiently while maintaining a physically demanding role, typically requiring 11-hour shifts on your feet.

The Person:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a cleaning or facilities management environment, ideally within a mining or industrial setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to identify and resolve potential hazards.

Role Requirements

Your capabilities extend beyond qualifications, and at 28 Villages, we highly regard soft skills alongside experience. However, the following abilities and qualifications are essential for consideration:

• Full working rights within Australia
• Valid Manual drivers’ licence 
• Good computer skills using the Microsoft Suite 
• Ability to pass a medical and drug and alcohol screen 
• National Police Clearance, or willing to obtain one 
• Senior first aid (desirable)
• Safety and Training qualifications will be highly regarded.
