About the company

Our client is a wholly Australian-owned company founded with the mission to transform the circular economy through advanced resource recovery. They are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Fitter for a DIDO position in Jackson, Queensland (5 hours West of Brisbane). Located on the Warrego Highway in Jackson, our client’s facility is a fully licensed waste processing, treatment, and resource recovery centre, strategically located to service the Surat Basin and surrounding regions.

 

Roster

You will be required to work on a 7/7 roster – working 6am-6pm (Tuesday to Tuesday)

Arrival Day: You will arrive at the site for a 9:30am start on Tuesday and work until 6pm

Departure Day: You will work from 6am – 10am before heading home

 

What you will be doing

Works will be based both on-site and within the workshop. You will largely be responsible for the tasks below on various construction & mining equipment;

·         Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups.

·         Detecting and diagnosing faults with mobile and fixed equipment with engines and parts.

·         Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.

·         Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed.

·         Maintaining records and documentation of services and repair works.

·         Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.

·         General housekeeping and cleaning as required.

·         Other tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.

 

Requirements

·         Driver’s Licence + reliable transport

·         Trade Certificate

·         White Card

·         Previous experience completing the above duties

·         Previous experience working on construction & mining equipment

·         Good communication skills

·         Strong fault-finding skills

·         Ability to work autonomously and in a team
