Structural Steel Detailer - Tekla Structures

About the role

Steelrig Fabrication Pty Ltd, a leading provider of structural steel fabrication services, is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Detailer with experience in Tekla Structures to join their dynamic and growing team in Dandenong South. This is a full-time onsite roll but some flexibility will be negotiable.

What you'll be doing

• Producing detailed 3D models and 2D shop drawings using Tekla Structures software

• Interpreting engineering designs and specifications to create accurate steel fabrication drawings compliant with industry standards

• Collaborating with the clients, engineers and production team to ensure drawings meet project requirements

• Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that arise during the detailing process

• Maintaining detailed records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle

• Assisting the estimating team with matierial take offs

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer, preferably using Tekla Structures

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards

• Excellent working knowledge of steel fabrication techniques and construction methods

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot design issues

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders

• Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is highly desirable
