The Role:

The Haul/Dump Truck Operator role is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of Dump Trucks on the mine site, and the actions of the Haul/Dump Truck Operator directly contribute to the overall production goals of the Mining Department.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Haul Truck in a safe and efficient manner in line with site specific procedures and priority rules.

• Ensure that all loads are collected and dumped at the correct stockpiles.

• Conduct daily pre-start checks of the Haul Trucks prior to operating

• Demonstrated commitment to safety, ensuring safe and effective operation of equipment.

• Assist with other machinery operations as required.

• Operate on a dayshift, nightshift roster

 

Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum of 12 months prior experience operating on a mine site with production mining experience on Dump Trucks CAT777, CAT785 and/or CAT789

• Experience operating Dozers (D10 and/or D11), Graders (16M or larger) and Excavators (200t or Larger) in a production mining environment, or any additional machines would be advantageous

• Strong understanding of mining operations and production targets.

• Physically mobile with a good fitness level

• Flexible and versatile attitude

 

Essential Requirements:

• RIIMPO338E Conduct rigid haul truck operations and/or RIIMPO337E Conduct articulated haul truck operations

• Current Australian C Class Driver’s Licence (HR preferred).

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen

• Ability to complete online inductions and provide two recent contactable references.

• Hold, or willing to obtain a National Police Clearance valid within 12 months

• Full Australian Work Rights

• CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (Construction “White card”)

 

Desirable qualifications (standard mine-site mobilisation requirements):

• Current MRL, RTIO and/or BHP Inductions

• Certificate III Resource Processing

• 4WD/Defensive Driving (such as RIIVEH305F: Operate and Maintain a 4WD Vehicle, RIIVEH201E: Operate a Light Vehicle)

• TLIC1051 – Operate commercial vehicle

• HLTAID011 – Provide first aid

• CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment

• RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights

• RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces

• MSMWHS217 – Gas test atmospheres
