Project Overview:
The Pluto Train 2 project, managed by Woodside Energy, is an expansion of the existing Pluto LNG facility near Karratha, Western Australia. This Project will increase processing capacity for Scarborough gas, boosting LNG production to approximately 5 million tonnes per annum, and expand domestic gas capacity to 225 terajoules per day. Bechtel has been selected to oversee the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for Pluto Train 2, helping to meet the rising global demand for LNG.
Tube Fitters can make:
All Purpose Rate: $60.37 per hour (including applicable Tradesperson Allowance).
Totaling up to $5,975.50 per week (anticipated gross earnings before tax and any deductions).
What’s on Offer:
3:1 FIFO roster.
68-hour work week.
Fly home on the morning of day 21, paid at ordinary hours – be home the same day!
Accrued RDO – opt to be paid during RNR or at the end of your contract.
Full-time, permanent employment with 4 weeks of annual leave and 10 days of personal leave.
$5.40 per hour site allowance.
$175 per week project incentive payment (PIP).
Severance payment of 2x base hourly rate per week.
Position Overview:
As a Tube Fitter on the Pluto Train 2 project, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems, supporting our skilled trades team in various tasks to keep operations efficient and safe.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with tube fitting, bending, and assembly tasks as directed by senior trades
Handling and distributing materials, including tubing and other supplies, across the site
Preparing work areas, setting up tools and materials, and ensuring clean, organised spaces Inspecting and maintaining tools, equipment, and tubing for quality and safety
Supporting in positioning, securing, and testing of tubing assemblies
Collecting and returning tools and equipment, ensuring they’re in good working condition
Qualifications and Skills:
Demonstrated experience in tube fitting installation on oil & gas or LNG projects
Working knowledge of Gyrolok and/or Swagelok tube fittings, including correct installation and leak prevention
Experience using hand and hydraulic tube benders on stainless steel tubing, maintaining minimum bend radius and alignment to drawings
Ability to carry out tube cutting, deburring, cleaning, and preparation to site and LNG cleanliness standards
Exposure to pressure testing and leak testing activities, including identification and rectification of defects
Familiarity with LNG materials such as 316/316L stainless steel, duplex, or similar
Understanding of QA/QC requirements, including ITPs, basic traceability, and as-built documentation
Experience working under permit-to-work systems, isolations, and gas testing requirements
Ability to work safely in hazardous areas, live plant environments, and during pre-commissioning activities
Strong safety focus with the ability to identify hazards and stop work when required
Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
