The Company:

John Hughes Group is one of Australia’s largest privately owned automotive dealerships. With a strong reputation for excellence and customer service, we are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our professional team based in East Victoria Park.
 
This full-time position is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, end‑to‑end payroll services for approximately 600 employees across the main company and a small associated entity.

You will be working with another experienced Payroll Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of weekly, mid-monthly and monthly payroll using the ADP Payroll System

  • Completion of payroll-related accounting and reporting

  • Data entry and reconciliation of staff debtor and fuel accounts

  • Support with monthly and year-end processing and reporting

  • Assistance with superannuation reconciliation and payments

  • Monitoring and processing annual leave requests via an automated system

  • Liaising with Managers to ensure timely collection of timesheets

  • Monitoring special conditions within employee contracts

  • Maintaining employee visa information in line with legislation

  • Monitoring and maintaining professional licensing required by employees

  • Providing high-quality service to internal and external payroll stakeholders

  • Administering and reconciling Government related payments.

  • Preparing and processing termination and redundancy calculations

About You

We are looking for someone who is accurate, organised, and committed to delivering excellent service.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in end-to-end Australian payroll

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Modern Awards, PAYG, Superannuation, WorkCover, Payroll Tax and salary packaging

  • HR experience

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • ADP Payroll experience is desirable but not essential
