Electrical Apprentice

About the role

SGK Electrical Services is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team in Bella Vista, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the electrical trades. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical hands-on experience whilst completing your formal qualifications. This role is fundamental to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople and contributes directly to our reputation for delivering quality electrical services to our clients.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting qualified electricians with the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial properties

2. Learning to safely use hand and power tools, testing equipment and electrical installation materials

3. Assisting with wiring, cable routing, circuit installation and testing under supervision

4. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures

5. Following technical drawings, plans and specifications to carry out electrical work accurately

6. Learning to troubleshoot electrical faults and assist with diagnostic testing

7. Supporting the team with site preparation, equipment organisation and general labouring tasks

8. Attending formal training sessions and completing required coursework for your electrical apprenticeship qualification

What we're looking for

1. A strong interest in the electrical trades and commitment to completing a formal electrical apprenticeship

2. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings

3. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work to precise specifications

4. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly from experienced tradespeople

5. Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality

6. A valid driver's licence is highly desirable

7. Valid driver's licence required before starting the apprenticeship

8. Ability to obtain and maintain a Construction Induction Card (White Card)

9. Construction Induction Card (White Card) must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment

10. Physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual labour safely

11. A genuine passion for health and safety practices on site
